PTA Sponsored Reflections Contest

This PTA-sponsored program allows your child to come up with her/his own way to express this year’s theme: Let Your Imagination Fly. Children can enter as many pieces as they’d like across six categories (literature, visual arts, photography, film production, dance choreography, and musical composition). Your child does not have to be an accomplished artist or expert writer to enter. It’s all about a child’s interpretation and expression of the theme. The deadline for submitting entries is Friday, 11/6.

Updates from the Principal

Dear Robertson Families,

This Week's News

Dismissal-Safety Concern
Parents, during dismissal, we have noticed students being grabbed by parents out of line as the class is in the process of heading outside, or while teachers are tending to other students.  This prevents teachers from knowing who has picked up their student and creates confusion.  Please wait until your child is seated under the awning and make sure to acknowledge the teacher by handing him/her your child's dismissal card.  We want to ensure the safety of every child.  Additionally, if you are not in a vehicle, your child is a walker and is dismissed in the back of the school.  The front of the school is for car riders only.  Once you have picked up your child(ren), please clear the front entrance area.  We would like to avoid congestion, and ensure all students are placed into their vehicles quickly and safely.

Late Student Pick-Up
When students are not picked up by 3:00 pm, they are brought into the front office.  Please sign out your student on the "Late Student Pick-Up" form.  This allows us to keep track of late pick-ups.

Parent Pick-Up and Drop Off
There have been a few concerns expressed regarding Drop Off and Pick Up.  The following is a reminder of our procedures.  When dropping off or picking up please stay in your car.  Move up as directed by the teachers on duty, and pull up to the front of the line.  When leaving the parking lot turn right.  There is no talking on your cell phone in a school zone, the parking lot, and the parent pick up/drop off line.  This is for the safety of all students, and drivers can be ticketed as it is against the law.  Be courteous to one another in the line, do not cut other drivers off, and please be respectful with your words and actions, remember your child is watching and so are the other students.

Parents Walking Students to Class/Picking Up Early
This is a friendly reminder that when you access the building for any reason; walking child to class, eating lunch, conferencing with teacher, picking up early, you will be asked for your ID.  This is for the safety of your student.  Asking for identification allows us to know who is in the building.

Robertson Open House
Please mark your calendar!  Open House will take place on Thursday, September 10th.  Please see below under "Mark your Calendar" for specific times.

Administrator Office Hours
Parents, as most of you know, I spend a lot of time in classrooms, and meeting with teachers to support instruction.  For this reason I most likely will not be in my office if you stop by or walk in.  I am asking that you please schedule an appointment with the Principal's Secretary, Sally London.  You can reach her at 512-428-3301 or via email sally_london@roundrockisd.org.  You are always welcome to see me, I value your input and feedback, please do not hesitate to make an appointment.
